PFAS-Free Fabrics — No Forever Chemicals

Our fabrics are never treated with PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), commonly known as "forever chemicals." Unlike many performance fabrics on the market, we do not apply water resistance, stain resistance, or moisture-wicking treatments to our textiles. While we do use softening agents during production, these are gentle and do not alter the fundamental nature of the fabric.

PFAS are widely used in activewear and performance textiles, but they persist in the body and the environment for decades. By choosing Claire Powell, you're choosing products that are free from these harmful substances.

Washed with Filtered RO Water

Every piece of fabric we use is washed with filtered reverse osmosis (RO) water. This extra step ensures that any residual softening agents are thoroughly removed before the fabric reaches your hands, leaving you with a clean, pure product.

Certified AZO-Free Inks — Safe for Skin

All of our printing uses certified AZO-free inks only. AZO dyes are commonly used across the textile printing industry, but they can break down into toxic aromatic amines that are absorbed through the skin. They are classified as carcinogenic and are also a major source of water pollution, causing serious harm to aquatic ecosystems.

Our AZO-free inks eliminate this risk entirely. They are gentle on even the most sensitive skin, making our products safe and recommended for children.

What We Don't Promise — and Why That's a Good Thing

You won't see us claiming our fabrics are water-resistant, stain-resistant, moisture-wicking, or quick-dry — and that's by design. Those performance features are typically achieved using PFAS treatments. We've chosen to leave them out so that what touches your skin is as clean and natural as possible.
